Linda D. Hendrix

Lansing, Michigan

Linda Hendrix, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016, surrounded by her devoted family.

Linda was born January 25, 1949, to the late Sarah and William Lahre. Linda is survived by her sons, David and Michael (Christine); daughters Jenny, Kim Emerson (Dave) and Allison Mohr (George). She leaves behind her eleven adoring grandchildren Layla, Sonny, and Sullivan Hendrix; Colin, Emily, Gracin, and Kalyn Emerson; Audrey, Morgan, Liliana, and Luca Mohr. She was a caring sister to Donna McKenna (Brian) and William Lahre. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dave, her mother and father, her sister Sandra Wells, and her daughter Jill.

Linda graduated from Eaton Rapids High School. Professionally, she worked for the State of Michigan Department of Treasury for over 30 years. She enjoyed walking, attending her grandchildren’s sporting and social events, and playing cards with her close friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loved ones. From taking vacations to hosting weekend gatherings, Linda was the heart of her large family. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her kindness, courage, generosity, and optimistic outlook on life. Though she left us way too soon, we will carry her in our hearts forever.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016, at St. Gerard Parish, with Fr. John Klein as celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, on Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 4-7 p.m.; and 1 hour prior to service time on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sparrow Home Hospice Services.
