We will greatly miss seeing Uncle Jack on our visits home to Michigan, but I know he is smiling down on us with Suzy, John, and Grandma Peggy right by his side. I like to think that in the end his heart just couldn’t keep up with him because he gave it out to so very many of us over the years. He was the very, very best and will be remembered by all who knew him.

I will miss my Uncle Jack and his smile and laugh. He always had something kind to say and was always positive. He reminded me a lot of his mom Grandma Peggy in that respect. Glad I was able to spend time with him over the last couple of years whether it was helping him with things around the house or just shooting the breeze with him watching golf on TV or talking to him on the phone about the Spartans, Lions or Tigers. I will always picture him with his video camera walking around videotaping the family at holiday gatherings. He loved being around family whenever he could. Which is just one of the things that I loved about my Uncle Jack.

Uncle Jack, you will be sorely missed by all of us. You were always so kind, upbeat and happy. I will never forget the hand held poker machine you brought to me in the hospital and the sweet 16 flowers. I know Suzy, John and Grandma Peggy will be so happy to have you with them again!! Hopefully you have your video camera up there with you. Your home movies are the best!! We love and miss you. I will especially miss my Dad talking to you on the phone and calling you “Ortie”.

I had a never-ending cousin crush on Jackie since I was a little girl. He always made me feel so very special. And his continuous smile was infectious. I will never forget how supportive he was when our Dad and especially our Mom was ill. He was there for all of us Murphy kids at every turn. Many tears are being shed for you, Cuz.

That smile! Always there and brought happiness and caring to all of us. You were and are a great guy. What fond memories the Gribben family has of the times at football games, parties, or just being together. One special guy.

Mary, Shellie, and Pat….I am so sorry for your loss. My heart and prayers go out to all of you and your families. All thru high school I was always welcomed in your home by Pat and Jack. Many great memories on vacation with you, at parties, and at family holiday gatherings. You were my second family. I know Mary and I are responsible for some of Pat and Jacks gray hairs!! Jack was always so calm, kind, and smiling….with whatever storm Mary, Shellie, and myself caused. Thanks for the great memories.
Find comfort in knowing Jack is with John and Susie and we will see them again!!

Very sorry to hear of Jack’s death. For a short time Jack was my supervisor at Delta Dental. We referred to Jack as; Good ole Smiling Jack. Always had a smile on his face and in a great mood every day.
What a great person and I am sure will be very much missed by everyone.
