Lansing, Michigan

Patricia Ann “Pat” Thomas (McConnell) — a strong, feisty woman who fought through many health issues during the last 22 years, passed away on December 24, 2015, at the age of 75.

Pat graduated from Eastern High School in 1957. In 1958, she married Gary Lee Thomas. They were together for 53 years until his death in 2012. She then went to work for the Lansing School District, running the lunch program at Moores Park School until 1993.  Pat was also a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, Nana/Grandma, sister, and friend. She had a great sense of humor and a kind and generous heart that touched many lives. She was a fashionista that kept both QVC and HSN in business. She was one classy lady.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Thomas; parents, May & Andrew Webber and Melvin & Jan McConnell; and her dear sister-in-law, Sue Webber.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Chris) Couthen, Cindy (Joe) Hurst, Missy Thomas, and Mark (Marcie) Thomas; brothers, Philip Webber (Becca) and Mike McConnell; sisters, Marijo (Dave) Lathrop and Jill (Gary) McConnell-Wirth; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a very special woman who was like another daughter to her, Theresa Bennett; and lifelong friend, Judy Kzeski.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.   For those desiring, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choosing in Pat’s name.
