Marilyn M. Castle

Age 79, of Lansing, MI, passed away January 3, 2015. She was born August 3, 1935, in Lansing, MI. Marilyn graduated from Sexton High School in 1954. Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper with Michigan Millers, Lansing Federal Drop Forge and Lansing Drop Forge before retiring from Auto-Owners Insurance Company in 2001. Along with her beloved husband Wayne Castle also owned and operated Castle Janitorial Service for 49 years. Marilyn enjoyed baking, working in her garden, vacationing at Houghton Lake and Florida, fishing, long walks, riding her bike, bingo and her numerous hummingbird and frog lawn ornaments.

Surviving are: 4 children, Randy Roche, Joseph Castle, Wendy (Frank) Surget Castle, Charnell (Jeffrey) Fox Castle; 4 grandchildren, Sarah (Mac) Redman, Ryan Roche, Grayce Fox, and Jonathan Fox; 1 great-grandson, Mason Redman; sister, Gale Baker; and brother, Jack Underhill. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne B. Castle; mother, Fern Preston; and father, Edward Underhill.

Marilyn’s family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Duane and Mary Jo Harmon and Gale Baker for their special care for Marilyn.

To honor our mother’s wishes and to celebrate the lives of our beloved parents, a Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, Aerie #1039, 4700 N. Grand River Avenue, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care in memory of Marilyn Castle.
