Margaret C. Aenis

Age 96, of Lansing, passed away May 5, 2013. She was born April 5, 1917, in Central Lake, MI, daughter of the late Alva and Hazel James.

Margaret was a member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. She retired from the State of Michigan, secretary of state’s office. She will be most remembered for beautiful and creative cake artistry and her loving presence.

She is survived by her children, Sally (Joseph) Malatinsky, Valerie (Richard) Frayer, Melanie (Martin) Courtier and James (Judy) Annis; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, 125 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Peter N. Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or to her church’s building and facilities fund.
