Ray Gerald Kimball was born on January 10, 1933, in Blanchard, Michigan, to his late parents Gerald and Faye [Huckins] Kimball.  He graduated from Remus High School in 1951.  He was a Corporal in the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955.  He worked at Diamond Reo for over 17 years (part of which was in Military Engineering and test driving), after which he took a position with the State of Michigan as a Maintenance Mechanic, from which he retired after 20 years.

Ray was a social, active man who was deeply involved with his church for the majority of his life.  He enjoyed attending services at both Pennway Church of God in Lansing, Michigan, and Millbrook Free Methodist Church in Blanchard, Michigan.  He also dedicated his time and efforts to the Lansing City Rescue Mission.  His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, genuine and selfless person who loved his family, motorcycles, and classic street rods. His hobbies included: building trailers, fixing cars, repairing bicycles for the neighborhood kids, and assisting anyone in need of help.

Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Pennway Church of God in Lansing, MI, with the funeral service following promptly at 11:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Millbrook Free Methodist Church in Blanchard, MI, with a reception immediately following both services.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ray’s life.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Millbrook Free Methodist Church Park Fund (in Ray’s honor), 5751 7th St., Blanchard, MI 49310. Or a simple donation of your time to the Lansing City Rescue Mission in the memory of Ray Kimball.

Gloria and family, our deepest sympathy for the loss of Ray. Mike worked with Ray for the State and I also worked at the complex for Secretary of State. We both enjoyed knowing and being friends with Ray. What a great guy he was. May the wonderful memories of him sustain you now and in the time to come.
