Phillip K. Nicholoff

Phillip NicholoffAge 89, passed away August 8, 2011.  He was born June 27, 1922, in Toronto.  Phillip was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the China Burma India Theater.  He owned and operated the Town Pump Lounge, and then worked as a sales rep for the Hiram Walker and Sons, Corp. for 31 years, receiving numerous sales awards.  Phillip was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, ABMA, and was active with the local CBI/Merrill’s Marauders organization.  He loved his 1925 Model T which he owned for 61 years, and liked sporting events with his sons, although the most fulfilling moments of his life were the times spent with his wife and family!

Surviving are:  his wife of 62 years, Helen; 2 sons, Brian (Barbara) Nicholoff of Carmel, IN and Kris Nicholoff (Heather Scott) of Haslett; 5 grandchildren, Phillip James “PJ,” Justin, Drew, Steven, and Paula.  He was preceded in death by his son, Paul in 2008; his parents and 4 siblings. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw St., Lansing, with Fr. Christopher Rozdilski officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, with the Panikhida service at 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Phillip Nicholoff.

Everyone at Sparrow Home Care is so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was a wonderful man and enjoyed life to its fullest. My thoughts are with you and your family.
