Pauline A. Solomon

Age 88, of Lansing, passed away February 10, 2013. She was born January 27, 1925, in Lansing, to Frank and Haboub Ferris.

Pauline was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and attended business school and Michigan State University. She was a 45-year resident of Kalamazoo where she was a dedicated homemaker and later worked with her husband in their business AmFab Inc. She was a member of The Episcopal Cathedral of Christ the King in Kalamazoo for 25+ years and was devoted to the altar guild and choir. She loved playing the piano, singing, and entertaining. Upon returning back to Lansing in 1997, Pauline became a volunteer with Sparrow Auxiliary for 10 years and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Liz) Solomon, Paula Solomon, Betty Solomon, Peggy Solomon; grandchildren, James, Carrie and Jacob; brother-in-law, Ramiz Hourani; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Solomon, and sisters Gladys (Howard) Namey and Rose Hourani.

A memorial service for both Robert and Pauline Solomon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, with interment of ashes to follow in the memorial garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church, American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.

I’m sorry to read of the loss of Pauline A Solomon. My thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, “is healing the brokenhearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots.” May God bring you comfort and peace.
