Michael Andrew Humphrey

Michael, 44, of Ann Arbor, MI, is the son of Harold and Jane Humphrey.  He was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan.  He died unexpectedly on December 3, 2015, from an undetected medical condition which struck while he was moving his girlfriend from Florida to Michigan.

Michael graduated from East Lansing High School in 1989 and continued his education at Michigan State University where he graduated with honors in 1995.  He pursued a career in the networking and communications field.  In Florida, he created and ran two successful companies.  After selling his companies, Michael returned to Michigan and settled in the Ann Arbor area this past summer.  He was considering graduate work in business administration to pursue new business endeavors.  Michael loved the Great Lakes and was continuing the family tradition of boating in the Charlevoix area with his own family.

Michael is survived by his parents; his children: Alexandra, Benjamin and Jacob; his brother, Jason Humphrey; and two nieces Andrea and Abigail.  In addition, he is survived by his beloved extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins and numerous friends from his life.  Michael was generous, full of life and successfully achieved the goals he set with intelligence, honor and dignity.  All those he touched were happy he came home and were cheering him as he began new endeavors in Michigan.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Estes-Leadley Funeral Home, Lansing, MI.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Michigan State University Museum, 409 W. Circle Dr., East Lansing, MI 48824 and/or St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 300, 1301 N. Main St., Chamberlain, SD 57325.

Our time was brief, but your impact on me was positive and ever lasting. Our absolute quality time spent, fishing watching football ( GO BLUE! ) and even a trip to the emergency room…. will never leave my memory. Rest In Peace, may your family rest in comfort knowing where truly a great person! God Bless.
