I just read about “Doc’s” passing in the MSU Perspectives magazine.
I was certainly saddened to hear about it and it caused me to reflect about his impact on me. I learned a lot about business from hi..but some things about life as well. I always admired his love of life, positive outlook, and especially his dedication and affection for his wife. He was truely one of the “larger than life” chararacters I’ve ever had the good fortune of knowing.
I now see that Marilyn has passed as well. It seems right that they are together. Their love for each other was so clear for everyone to see. She truely “had his back” and was devoted to him.

I just learned that Doc and Marilyn Benson both passed away in the last year. They were both influential in my life as I worked at the Waverly, Larch and other clinics. Marilyn was always kind and supportive, but SO gracious when I lost my mother to cancer. Doc challenged me to be the best I could be. Whenever he came out to check on the clinic, I stroved to leave no surface uncleaned. I never wanted to disappoint. Mary and Peter were great to work with, too. I felt part of the family; and although belated, I feel I’ve lost two important people from my life.
