Margaret Peckham, 62, died surrounded by those who love her on November 8, 2016 in Naperville, IL following a short but valiant battle with cancer. She lived each day with grace, humor, and the desire to treat others the way she wished to be treated. Peggy loved theatre, travel, reading, and, most of all, shopping for a good bargain.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Alice (Regan) Peckham, father Earl Peckham, sister Patricia Dunham, and aunt Lyla Regan. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Tom Krashen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Carol Krashen, of Naperville, and her niece and nephew Nicole Krashen and Mike Krashen, both of Chicago.
Peggy retired in April 2015 following 29 years of service with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Her job, and her passion, was helping establish community-based programs known as PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), which provide medical and social services to the frail and elderly. Following retirement, she and her husband had moved from Haslett to Sarasota, FL.
The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary care and kindness she received from the wonderful doctors, nurses, and other professionals at the Edward Cancer Center and at Seasons Hospice in Naperville.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any contributions made to the “Edward Foundation” for “Edward Cancer Center,” 801 S. Washington St. Naperville, IL 60540 or online at https://www.eehealth.org/ways-to-give/edward-foundation/donate. Please specify that gifts are in the memory of Margaret Peckham.
