Luella Marguerite Larson

Age 73, of Lansing, died on February 22, 2012.   She was born March 23, 1938 in Ford River, MI, the daughter of Elmer and Carrie Larson.

Luella was an artistic and creative person who loved working with children. She was a volunteer for Reading is Fundamental and enjoyed creating arts and craft projects at her church.

Alzheimer’s disease may have taken away her memory, but it was not able to diminish her humor, grace and love for her family.

Surviving are her children Laura Carman (Mark) and Loren Witte (Melissa) and her grandchildren Trent Fudala, Stormy Schmidt, Owen Witte and Morgen Witte. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Brittney Fudala.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the ICMCF staff for the loving care given to Luella these past 8 years. You brought comfort and joy to us all.  We also deeply appreciate the help and support of the staff at McLaren Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to the foundation in support of the Ingham County Medical Care Facility.

Laura and Loren, your mom was a great woman whom I will remember with the fondest memories. I am so sorry for your loss. She is at peace now and will look down upon you with love in her eyes.

I’m sorry to hear about my aunt’s passing…she and my mother were sisters, now the four girls are together in heaven with their parents. I’d love to hear from Laura Ann or Loren, it’s been years since Loren and I hung out together in Escanaba, and I haven’t seen Laura Ann since she was a baby. I can be reached at ebethlupita@yahoo.com.

My sympathies to family. Aunt Luella was always very kind to me and my children.
