Lt. Col. Flando E. Jackson

Lansing, Michigan.

Lt Col. Flando Elix Jackson, born September 28, 1970 to Mae Jackson of Lansing, MI and John Jackson of Seattle, WA passed Thursday, August 4th 2016 while on active duty with the Washington Air National Guard. Flando was a graduate of J. W. Sexton High School. He obtained the rank of Lt Col in the United States Air Force. He had a successful career with the Washington State Department of Correction as a parole officer.

Flando was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Ivy and Mary Henderson, Grandmother Lois Chapman, Grandparents Fred and Ann Elizabeth Jackson, Aunts Eva Orr, Trina Christian, Theresa Colbert, Ruth Brasher, Bernice Williams and daughter Jakara Jackson. Flando is survived by Sons Dylan and Nikolas Jackson, daughter Evalyn Jackson. Mother Mae Jackson, Father John (Brenda) Jackson, Brothers Dotstry and Montrel Jackson; and his grandfather Lewis Smith. Aunts Mary Christian, Kathy (William) Hubbert, Dr. Fredericka, Cecelia (Lawrence) Davenport. Uncles Anthony, Leonardo and Clifton Christian, Randall (Michelle) Stewart, Orlando and Adrian Smith, Andrew (the late Doris) Jackson, Thomas (Jeanette) Jackson, Gerald (Loi) Jackson, and Thaddeus (Charlie) Jackson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 at Friendship House of Prayer Baptist Church, 4301 South Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI 48911 .  Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 West Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI 49012

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Chapel on Tuesday, August 16th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  and again on Wednesday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m.  His body will also lie-in-state for calling hours at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Tuesday, August 16, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, U.S.O, or Friends of the Fallen.
