Donna E. (Lawrence) Coté

Age 72, of Lansing, passed away January 22, 2013.  She was born April 10, 1940, in Lansing, to Charles and Della Lawrence.  Donna was a graduate of Vennard College in Iowa.  She worked for Bethany Children’s Home in Kentucky for 15 years, and retired from the State of Michigan.  She was an active, lifetime member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, and a volunteer with the Red Cross.

Surviving are:  her husband of 21 years, William Coté; sister, Nola (David) Meade; sister-in-law, Patricia Lawrence; brothers-in-law, Donald Cote, and Gene Cote; uncle, Floyd Wright; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; and 8 great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lynn Lawrence; and niece, Lori Greer.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 501 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, with The Rev. Rob Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, and one hour before the funeral service at the church on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church in memory of Donna Coté.

What a beautiful person. Heaven’s richer; Earth is poorer. Thank you Donna for spreading the Lord’s love while you journeyed here with us. Bil my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

It seems such a short time ago we attended your wedding. You and Bill (or “Mr. Cotie” as our kids used to call him) will always remain in our hearts. Bill, so very sorry for your loss.
