Daniel R. Anderson

Anderson, Daniel photoAge 29, passed away on May 10, 2017, in Mason.  He was born a Leap Day baby on February 29, 1988, in Lansing, Michigan, to Bill and Paula (Capoccia) Anderson.  Dan was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, husband and father.

Dan was a 2006 graduate of Mason High School, where he played clarinet his freshman year, was a 4-year member of the golf team and served on the yearbook committee his senior year.  He was an asphalt employee for many years and was currently working at R&D Landscaping.

Dan was extremely thoughtful and had an innate ability to sense when a person was down or in need of a friend.  He opened his heart and listened, no matter what his own circumstances were. His passions were crotch rockets, guns, fishing and hunting, especially coyotes. He enjoyed video games (gaming) and loved searching for Puddingstones, leaving behind an awesome collection.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol (Wild) Pentoney; grandfather, Edward Capoccia; 2 uncles, Oscar Smith and Richard Capoccia; 1 aunt, Dee (Smith) Hazel; and his precious baby girl, Rowan (Row Row) Olivia Whited.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Megan (David) Anderson; daughter, Cadence Olivia Anderson; parents, Bill and Paula Anderson; sister, Lora (Raymond) Gurley; grandmother, Joyce Capoccia; aunt, Christine (Neal) Melancon; uncle, Jim (Sharon) Marshall; aunt, Catherine Ireland; great-uncle, Dr. David (Sheri) Wild; great-aunt, Barbara (Nelson) Simkins; and many cousins.

A memorial celebration of Dan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Holt High School main campus auditorium, 5885 W. Holt Road.  Those attending are asked to dress casual in honor of Dan’s expressed dislike of dressing up! Dan was an avid University of Michigan football fan and enjoyed wearing maize and blue, camouflage and black gun-themed t-shirts.  If inclined, guests are invited to wear their support accordingly.  In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me account has been established and monetary support of Megan and Cadence at this most-difficult time is appreciated.

Had the pleasure of working with Dan in the past at Arbys in Mason Michigan. And he was the work clown to say the least. But would surely help, give, donate to anything and anyone in need. Such a kind, caring, loving, compassionate soul he was! I love you my friend. Continue to watch over your wife and daughter in this time of need. RIP and fly high with the angels. Hope Burchard
