Dagmar H. Haeger

Lansing, Michigan.  Passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at age 102 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.  Dagmar was born September 27, 1912 in Houghton, Michigan daughter of the late August and Mary Mikko and grew up in Puritan, Michigan where her father worked as a copper miner.  Dagmar was married to Delbert O. Haeger on December 8, 1934 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  He preceded her in death in 2002.  Dagmar was known to all as a loving caregiver who always put others first.  Her eyes and ears were always open to help others in need.  Recycling was a part of her life long before the world became aware of its benefits.  Dagmar was active in the Women’s Circle at Bethlehem Lutheran Church making quilts, knitting, and preparing food for various church functions.  She was a volunteer at Ingham/McLaren Hospital for over 50 years.

Surviving are her 3 children: Jack (Jean) Haeger, Marilyn (Marvin) Cole, and Kay Wood; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and again on Thursday at the Church for one hour prior to the funeral service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in memory of Dagmar, to Sparrow Home Hospice.
