Anne Marie Hester
February 7, 1926 – May 20, 2017
Age 91, Anne Hester passed away on May 20th. Born February 7, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, of immigrant parents from Lithuania. Anne was a resident of the Lansing area most of her life.
A graduate of Michigan State University’s School of Social Work, she went on to serve as a social worker for the City of Detroit’s Police Department before marrying her husband of 43 years, Daniel A. Hester. A wonderful mother, wife, mother-in-law, and friend of many, she will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dan. Anne is survived by her loving children, Dan “DJ” (Monica) Hester, Beca (Reggie) Brooks and Patti (Brent) Garrott, as well as her four grandchildren, Jessica (Jonathan), Adam, Ethan and Calin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lansing/Stoneleigh Residence where she resided the past year. It was my honor & pleasure to get to know your Mom during her stay at Stoneleigh Residence.
She always thanked me for coming by to visiit her even on the days she didn’t want a haircut or styled. She would always tell me have a good day & thanked me.
