Alice M. (Wichtoski) Wyatt

Wyatt, Alice photoAlice was born November 20, 1947, at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, MI, to John and Helen Wichtoski. She was the youngest of seven children. Alice passed peacefully, with her son Ben and family by her side on May 22, 2017, at the age of 69.

Alice lived, laughed, and loved with passion and grace.  She was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and a fun and fun-loving friend. She was baptized into the Catholic Church at birth and was a dedicated and active member at St. Casimir Parish where she volunteered and served on the Parish Council and the Altar Guild Society for years. Alice graduated from Lansing Everett High School in 1965, took classes at LCC and retired from the State of Michigan after 32 years in 2002.

Alice loved spending summers at her sister Carol’s cottage with her son, family, and friends at the lake. Holidays and special occasions were always extravagantly celebrated with family, friends and food. She loved crafting, cooking and baking, going to garage and estate sales, working on her house, and especially playing with her cats.

Alice is survived by her beloved son, Benjamin Popoff-Wyatt, Paul Pirrotta who she was a second mother to, her niece and caregiver Amanda Deason, her cats Lewis, Clarke, and Cheech, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Joan, Jean, Jackie, Arlene, and Carol and her brother John.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31st at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Donations in her honor can be made to St. Casimir Church.

Ben,
So sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed all the decorations at your house for all of the holidays. I will miss her too.
