Age 76, of Lansing, passed away January 16, 2013. She was born March 12, 1936, in Meridian Township, MI, to the late Earle and Lois Fohl.

Linda was a 1954 graduate of J.W. Sexton High School and went on to attend MSU. She worked part time in her first husband’s dental office. She served as a volunteer aide in the Waverly School system and at Sparrow Hospital. She was a lifetime member of Central United Methodist Church and also sang for many years in their choir. She enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ with her second husband, and spending summers in Lake City.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Richard; 2 children, Beth Ann (Michael) Durkee and Dr. Mark Hoesman; 5 stepchildren, Michael Bates, Leanna (Tim) Beckner, Scott (Wendy) Bates, Brian (Tammy) Bates, Mary Bates; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Russell (Norene) Cook, Wayne (Nancy) Cook, George (Arlene) Cooke, Jack (Darleen) Cook, Jim (Judy) Cook, Larry (Sharon) Cook; sisters, Shirley (Jim) Lee and Barbara (Wayne) Vibbert; brother-in-law, Morgan McLeland; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Jonathon Hoesman, DDS, and 3 sisters, Sandy McLeland, Eunice Cook and Josephine Blalock.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Central United Methodist Church, 215 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Earl Nelson Singers c/o Central United Methodist Church.
