Age 93, of Holt, passed away January 8, 2013.  She was born July 27, 1919, in Flint, MI, to Alonzo H. and Genevieve M. (Reid) Torrey.  Dema retired as Deputy Clerk from 56th District Court after 15 years.  She also volunteered at the Ingham Regional Medical Center Gift Shop, receiving an award for 25 years of service.

Left to cherish her memory are:  children, Carolyn (Robert) Stott of Aransas Pass, TX, Lisa Riel of Holt, Richard (Tammy) Riel of Panama City, FL and Steven (Kathy) Riel of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Torrey; 3 nieces and a nephew.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Reid Torrey.

The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Friday, and from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.  Per Dema’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  Private interment will take place in Bristol Cemetery in Flint.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice or to the veteran service organization of one’s choice in memory of Dema Riel.
