Richard W. Leonard

Age 78, of Dimondale, passed away November 4, 2012. He was born September 30, 1934, in Delhi Township, MI, to the late Clarence and Margaret Leonard.

Richard served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a brick mason for 45 years and was a member of BAC Local #9. He loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Hicks; his son, Darrell (Teresa) Leonard along with step-grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, and Jennifer Root and step-great-grandchildren, Noah, Mackenzie, Domonic, Zoe, and Alexis; his daughter, Brenda (George Hicks) Leonard along with granddaughter, Rebecca Jehner and great-grandchildren Trevier Jehner and Prestein Jehner-Pike; and granddaughter, Amanda Hicks and great-grandson, Mason Hicks-Lowman along with step-grandchildren, Jason Hicks and Jessica (Nik) Morehouse.  Also surviving are his ten step-children: Brent (Debbie) Hicks, Brenda Parrish, Leon (Judy) Hicks, Brian Hicks, Mary (Robert) Maguirre, Debra Hicks, Karen (Kent) Rawlinson, Sharon Hicks, David (Kathy) Hicks and Daniel (Raquel) Hicks along with 21 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles (Beverly) Leonard and Stanely (Shirley) Leonard; sister, Joan Sukovich; and nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Doerr.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow in Markham Cemetery in Delhi Township. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grovenburg United Methodist Church.
