Age 88, of Lansing, passed away October 2, 2012. He was born September 25, 1924, in Mishawaka, IN, to Alex and Fada Solomon.

Robert was a graduate of Lansing Central High School, served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and went on to graduate from the MSU School of Engineering. He was a 45-year resident of Kalamazoo, where he owned and operated AmFab Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline Solomon; children, Robert (Liz) Solomon, Paula Solomon, Betty Solomon and Peggy Solomon; grandchildren, James, Carrie and Jacob; brother, John Solomon; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Mary and Anna.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation or to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
