Age 87, passed away August 24, 2012.  He was born August 18, 1925, in Pleasant Valley, MI, to Leon and Ethel McClintic.  From high school, Nile served in the U.S. Navy.  He was honorably discharged in 1946, and on May 19 of that year, he married the “light of his life,” Margaret D. Hazelton.  Nile worked for John Bean for a short time, and then joined the Lansing Police Department in 1948.    He retired 34 years later, in 1982, as a Lieutenant.  Nile loved sports, especially golf, baseball, football and bowling, but his family and his grandchildren were the most important.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Margaret; granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Poxson; brother, Deo McClintic; and sister, Edna Neal.  Surviving are:  son, Ronald McClintic; daughter, Sue (Tim) Poxson; 4 McClintic grandchildren, Greggory, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Scott, and their mother, Kristine McClintic.  Also surviving are: 1 Poxson granddaughter, Katherine Pereida; 2 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean (Duane) Hellum; and many special nieces and nephews.

Many thanks extended to McLaren Hospice for their wonderful care, and a special thank you to Cherri Marriott

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with The Rev. Douglas McClintic, a nephew, officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice in memory of Nile McClintic.

    Ron and Sue,
So sorry I will not be able to be with you on Wednesday.
I’m glad we saw them both the last few summers for at least a short visit.
I know this is a difficult time for both of you, wish I could help. Just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
