May 31, 1924 – August 6, 2012

Our father, Harry passed away on August 6, 2012. He was loved and admired by both his family and friends. He wanted us to let everyone know how much he appreciated all of your prayers and well wishes in the past few months. He had a wonderful life filled with love and laughter and this we owe to you his family and friends. As a WWII veteran, we will think of him fondly for his service. Per his request he asked that there be no funeral services. He would rather you go out and celebrate his life with a good steak dinner and a bottle of wine and give a toast in his name!

In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in his name to: Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 South Cochran Rd., Charlotte, MI 48813.  (This is the home where he stayed for the past month. It is as nonprofit hospice organization).

“May tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought…
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side.
When memory paints in colors true,
the happy hours that belonged to you.”

We tried to make our yearly telephone call to Harry and were greatly saddened to read that he had passed away.

He was quite a guy and will be missed.

My condolances on the passing of Harry Pruitt. There was a Harry Pruitt who was a neighbor of ours from 1968-1970 in Rochester, MI. I recall he had a daughter named Nina. I used to mow his lawn for him all the time using his tractor. I don’t know if this is the same person or not. Please accept my deepest sympathy either way.
