Ann L. BrooksAge 88, passed away July 13, 2012.  She was born June 12, 1924, to Clarence and Estelle Shipley.  Ann was the former owner of AnJo’s Floralease and was a 60+ year active member of Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC.  She was also a member of Rebecca Lodge #496 and volunteered with several organizations.  Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Brooks, and by her parents.

Surviving are:  daughters, Joanne (William) Hoelzle of Dimondale and Linda (Barry) Carr of Texas; sons, Bruce (Alice) Brooks of Hawaii, Brion (Elizabeth) Brooks of Illinois, and David (Laura) Brooks of Bath; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Agnes Jurgens.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 125 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, with The Rev. Peter N. Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Pilgrim Congregational Church in memory of Ann Brooks.

    Ann was so active in AARP. She brought interesting speakers to our programs and gave 100%. She’ll be missed and thought of often.
