Age 75, of Holt,  passed away July 12, 2012.  He was born on April 14, 1937, in Lansing, to Ralph and Gladys (Kelley) Abbott.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and later worked for Oldsmobile for over 28 years in the Crankshaft Department.

He is survived by his wife Betty; children, Jeanetta, Joyce, David, Rheanna, and Gladys Abbott; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Fred, Wanda, and Joyce.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Careanna; and siblings: Ernest, Ruth, Raymond, Laura, Haddy, and Mabel.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with the Rev. Kiesha Plaskett officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
