Stanley Alexander McClure

Age 95, of Holt, passed away June 13, 2012. Stanley was born on May 16, 1917, in Garfield, MI where he grew up with his 11 siblings on their family farm. He was formerly of St. Charles, MI.

He was a farmer and became a skilled carpenter in the construction trade. He was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church serving as an Elder, Deacon, Sabbath School Teacher and a volunteer for the Lansing Community Service’s Center for several years.  He was member of the Lansing Carpenters Local #1449 and a retired volunteer firefighter in St. Charles, MI.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Evelyn; children, Marilyn McClure, Brenda Bartel, Ron McClure, and Harvey Bartel; 6 grandchildren, Craig (Robin) Archambault, Michelle Knox, Deanna (Brian) Hutchins, H. Brent McClure Bartel, Blake (Melissa) Bartel and Brandon (Jamie Holcomb) Bartel; 8 great-grandchildren, Sean, Shae, Brittany (AJ), Jade, Sydney, Natalie and Owen; brother, Charles (Norma) McClure; brother-in-law, Donald Schlager; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marvin and Judy Anderson.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Lansing Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5400 West St. Joe Hwy., with Pastor Justin Ringstaff and Elder Victor Hilbert officiating with interment in Leek Cemetery, Alaiedon Township, MI. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. and also from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service Center or the Great Lakes Caring Hospice.

To my dearest Family; My heart goes out to you at this time of sadness on the loss of Stanley. He was a special man in all of our lives and he will be sadly missed.
