John M. Donn

Age 87, of Lansing, passed away June 5, 2012. He was born January 2, 1925, in Gladwin, MI, the son of Ernest and Amelia Donn.

John was a veteran of World War II, serving proudly with the U.S. Army during the European Theatre. He was a life member of VFW Post #701, and a member of South Church and SERA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ethel; children, Gary (Vicky) Donn and Diane (Larry) Coffey; 5 grandchildren; 2 stepgrandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Delores) Donn; sisters, Dorothy Foster and Vera (Floyd) Koontz; special friend, Faye Jennings; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ervin, Rowland, Bernard and Chester.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with Pastor Ben Cuthbert of South Church officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Church or the Lansing City Rescue Mission.
