Of Lansing, born May 23, 1918 in Jersey City, New Jersey daughter of the late Rudolph and Wanda (Pletz) Moltzon, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at age 94. Frieda was a longtime member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing and had worked at Dwight Rich, Jr. High School. Survivors include her son, Donald (Susan) Bassler, Jr. of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren, Shelby (Scott) Butler of Charlotte, Krista Levanetz of Seymour, WI, Jennifer Palmer of Prescott Valley, AZ and Erika (Thomas) Gaston of Oceanside, CA; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Kinney of Mason, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bassler, Sr. in 1978 and by her sisters, Elsie Gustofik, Edna Stangry, Martha Conarton, and Tillie Sanderson. Funeral services will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul J. Lindloff officiating. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday for one hour prior to the funeral service.
