Wayne K. Bitner

Age 69 of Holt, MI, passed away, May 25, 2012. He was born July 2, 1942 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to William and Mabel Bitner and they preceded him in death.

Wayne was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Holt American Legion. He was a Journeyman Electrician at General Motors for 35 years, and was a member of UAW Local 652. Wayne was Short Track Racing fan, a member of the Hall of Fame Racing Club, an avid Euchre player, and enjoyed going to MSU women’s basketball games. Groovy lived the dream of his lifetime by going to the Daytona 500, and Disney World in February of 2012.

He is survived by his wife of 45.5 years, Alicia Jo Bitner; a son, Christopher Wayne Bitner; a grandson, Jareth Longdo; and many family members residing in Ohio, Tennessee, and California. He is also survived by special friends David and Sally; as well as special friends from his graduating class in Pennsylvania; and also numerous others.

The funeral service for Wayne K. Bitner will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel with Pastor Bob Carpenter, Jr. officiating, interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to McLaren Hospice.

Our thoughts and prayers and with the Bitner Family during this difficult time. Wayne was a great man and we will always cherish his devotion to our program. He will be missed and yet remembered fondly by loved ones and friends forever.

Wayne sat behind us at the Breslin Center and was a part of our cheering section. He will be greatly missed by his pals. My prayers are with his family during this time of great sadness.
