Austin "Barry" McGuire

July 21, 1933 – April 14, 2012

Born in Tawas City, MI, Barry spent his life living and working in Michigan. Since Retiring in 2001 as Executive Director of Michigan Automobile Dealers Assoc., he and his wife, Holly have enjoyed their winters in Tucson, AZ. Of all the successes in Barry’s life and career, nothing made him happier or more proud than helping others. Using his many contacts and friends, he touched the lives of so many in numerous ways. He was a kind and generous man and loved to say to people, “I’ll work for you or against you, whatever helps the most.”

Barry is survived by his loving children: son, Tim, and daughter, Molly (Patrick) Prichard; grandchildren, Sarah, Maureen, Austin Brad and Kevin McGuire and Shane and Barry Prichard; step-sons, Mark and John Harten; and his loving wife, Holly. He is predeceased by one son, Patrick McGuire. The love of family and friends meant everything to Barry and we will miss his delightful Irish smile and quick wit. His final blessing to all would be – “Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” GO GREEN!

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour St. Lansing, MI 48933. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Ann’s Covent, 3820 Sabino Canyon Rd.,Tucson, AZ 85750.

Dear Molly and Tim,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am sitting here remembering our parents,(mostly our dads 🙂 singing “Tawas Will Shine” throughout our childhoods. Oh we all had so much fun! I will always think of your dad smiling! Know that I am thinking of you. Much love,
Andrea
