Age 91, of Lansing, passed away October 13, 2011. She was born January 29, 1920 in Shepard, MI, the daughter of the late Albert and Lulu Meyer.

Margaret was a 1937 graduate of Eastern High School. She worked for Weisinger Paper as a secretary, and then in 1951, she started Miles Plumbing with her husband, Robert. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business until her retirement. She was a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lansing. Margaret and Robert traveled extensively in Africa, South America, Western Europe, and the United States. She will be remembered for her yearly handmade Christmas ornaments that she lovingly made for her grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Miles in 2009, infant son James R. Miles and twin brother Robert Meyer. She is survived by her three children, Janet (Ray) Wing, Kathleen Malone and Gordon Miles, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John A. Byers as celebrant. The Rite of Committal will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with the Rosary to be prayed at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or McLaren Hospice.
