Of Lansing, died September 30, 2011, at the age of 84. He was born August 30, 1927, in Highland Park, to the late Harry and Armena Terzian. Theodore served in the U.S. Army Pacific Theater during WWII. He graduated with a B.A. from Boston University. He worked as a wholesale tobacco and candy distributor, and owned Lansing Candy and Cigar Company for over forty years. He was a member of St. John Armenian Church of Greater Detroit, and attended both St. Gerard Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He loved spending time with his family and his “gang” and was an avid Spartan and Detroit Tigers fan.
Surviving are his children, Paula Terzian of Lansing and Theodore M. (special daughter-in-law Beth) Terzian, Jr. of Lansing; grandchildren, Anika and Alan (Katie) Schmidt, Teddy and Alexandra Terzian; great-grandson, Miles Schmidt; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonya Ann Terzian in 2005; sister, Virginia Atayan; brother-in-law, Harry James Sohigian.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, with The Rev. Fr. John P. Klein celebrating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday.
