Janice Ruth Maier

Age 74, passed away September 22, 2011.  She was born April 11, 1937, in Lansing, the daughter of Lester and Velma Wardwell.  Janice worked at Oldsmobile for several years and was a member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Janice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dancing and had a love of dogs, having 4 during her lifetime, Justin, Angel, Misty and Precious. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.  Surviving are:  daughter, Michelle Maier of Lansing; son, Timothy Maier; 3 nephews, Roger (Susan) Kowalski of Troy, Terry (Linda) Stevens of Williamston and Jeff Stevens of Perry. 

The  funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, with The Rev. Paul J. Lindloff officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Hospice.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
