Brian Kim Snow

Brian Kim Snow, the nicest guy in the world, has died from pancreatic cancer on June 26, 2011.  He was 59.  Kim, as he was known to most of his family and friends, was born on March 1, 1952, the middle son to Bernie and Maurine Snow.

Kim graduated from Leslie High School in 1970.  He excelled in three sports at Leslie High School and was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame this spring.

From 1970-1976, he served in the Air National Guard and began his career with Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan in 1971.  He was proud of his 40 years of service at his job.

Raising his three children, Kevin, Paul, and Jessica in Mason, Michigan was the highlight of his life.  He enjoyed coaching his boys while playing on several fast-pitch softball teams with brothers, Chris and Craig.  The highlight of his softball career was catching for his father on the 1972 State Championship team.

Kim was a proud grandfather to Paul and Chau’s children Tyler and Samantha as well as Jessica and Melvin’s son Melvin White, Jr.  His brother Craig’s wife Michelle and their three boys Taylor, Sam and Charlie were also very important to him.

Empty nesting in his Williamston home with his wife Sue was full of fun and adventures.  He loved his time with Sue’s boys Matt (Sarah) and Tim (Mary) Kirby along with the rest of Sue’s extended family.

Kim and Sue’s travels to Spartan Stadium, Major League Baseball parks and Boyne City were a few of their many highlights.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at the Williamston Free Methodist Church located at 4400 North Williamston Road, Williamston, MI 48895 on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following. Donations can be made to the church’s Benevolent fund.

Kim and Sue would like to thank all of their co-workers, friends and family as well as the medical staff at Ingham Regional Oncology.  We love you.

Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Growing up with Kim in Leslie and playing football with him was a great time. He was a great athelete and an even greater guy. Many good memories of those days back in the 60’s. I’ll miss Kim and his smile and his little bit of naivety as was evident when, at his recenct hall of fame induction, he bid what he thought was $5 for a Mark Dantonio signed football when in fact the auctioneer was asking for $500. Needless to say Kim got the football because no one out bid him. When I told him he was supposed to start low in the bidding, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders, smiled and said “I thought he said $5”. I love ya Kim and will miss you. Dick

Kim, I will always love you and will miss you tremendously. Growing up in Leslie you were at first my big brother who “messed” with me while I was sleeping. Then as you went through high school you became my idol because of your athletic exploits and the way you dressed. Later you became my teammate as we played a lot of basketball, fastpitch softball and golf together. Through it all you’ve always been my closest friend. I will always love you! RIP.

I will always be thankful that I had the privilege to be Kim’s sister-in-law! What an honor to watch and learn from a gentle, caring, forgiving and loyal man. It seemed he always did the right thing! I so enjoyed watching the relationship between him and Craig. They treated each other with great respect and always had a lot of fun together. I love you Kim and will miss you.

We are all a chapter in God’s Book. Some are longer and others are shorter. The good sometimes are short chapters and leave early. Kim was one of the good ones.

Kim,
You are one of the sweetest men I know:) !! I had so much fun watching you play baseball with my dear brother Paul. Kim-I remember when you brought your fireproof Leslie Fire Dept. calendar to work and hung it on our office wall. You were so proud of that calendar. You were right-it was fireproof-but, it sure did char. You were rightfully mad. But, I promised to never tell on John…

I miss your visits to Grand Rapids when we would reminisce. 40 years, where did it go? Rest in Peace, Kim

May God bless you and your family in their time of tremendous loss.

I have fond memories of Kim in high school. He was a nice guy, great athlete, good dresser, had nice penmanship and looked good in all of his uniforms! He was a kind and gentle person and will be greatly missed.

So many wonderful memories I have from all the times you spent at our house with your best friend and my brother, John. All the stories and jokes you shared…nobody could tell one as good as you, Kim. You always made me laugh.

You fought this disease with such inner strength, courage and grace. Throughout it all your faith was strong and your attitude positive. I am so very proud of you.

How honored I am to have been a part of your life and to call you my friend. I love you, Kim and will miss you deeply

Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. It seemed like Kim was such a good match to your whimsical, adventurous nature. We learned from the loss of our mothers to focus on the fine, fond memories to help us heal and find peace. And that finding peace just takes as long as it takes. Be good to yourself. Know that you are loved and appreciated.
