Robert Charles “Bob” Kellogg, 73, passed away, surrounded by friends and family on March 14, 2017, at home in Holt, MI. He was born on July 18, 1943, in Lansing, MI, to Rial and Ruth Kellogg. Bob was known as a hard-working, selfless and content family man.

Bob grew up in Lansing, MI, and he graduated from Everett High School in Lansing, MI in 1961. After high school he attended Lansing Community College in Lansing, MI where he received a certification in Refrigeration and Pipefitting. He worked for Kellogg Refrigeration, a family owned business, for 5 years before becoming employed at General Motors as a lineman where he worked for 31 years and retired.

Bob married Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Graham in 1966 in Lansing, MI. They were happily married for 50 years. Bob was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years, where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent for over 20 of those years. He was a baseball enthusiast, bowled in a church league for 40 years, enjoyed Western movies and murder/mystery shows. He faithfully volunteered at the Greater Lansing McLaren Hospital for 24 years and was an Election Board volunteer for many years as well.

Bob is survived by his spouse, Becky, of Holt, MI; his sons: Scott (Colynn) Kellogg of Eaton Rapids, MI, Lonnie Kellogg of Holt, MI (formerly of Riverside, California), and Shaun (Amanda) of Raleigh, North Carolina; his sister, Jo Ann (Saul) Martin of Riverside, California; and his many grandchildren, grand dogs, great-grandchildren, niece, nephew and other relatives.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Rial and Ruth Kellogg.

A funeral service will be held at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017. A visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017. The family will also be greeting friends and relatives at 10:00 a.m. March 20, 2017, before the service. Burial will follow the funeral in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

    Wow, God called a true Man of God home! I was privileged to know Bob and back in for a very long time not only did I go to church for them but I asked her what down the street from them. I’ll always remember the Sunday night in 1982, I came home from church to fine our house on fire, the first fire truck was arriving as Bob and Becky were passing. It wasn’t even a minute later Bob was there talking to my mom and volunteering to take me in for the week and a half that we’re out of the house.     Bob was a soft spoken guy and always had a smile on his face. He and Becky were great supporters of ours while we were at Kendon Drive Church in Lansing. Thank you for that! What a special love Bob and Becky have for each other. We pray for you, Becky, and your family during this difficult time.     So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I remember him as a very quiet guy in high school but I recognized him as soon as I saw picture above. As I am out of state visiting family I will be unable to attend the service. My condolences to the family. RIP Bob.
