In loving memory of our mother and grandmother, Maxine (Rich) Retzloff, who passed away January 17, 2017, at the age of 96. She was born in St. Johns, MI, on May 9, 1920, and moved to Lansing as a child, living in the Lansing area the rest of her life.
As a young woman, she worked for the Dept. of Social Services and retired after many years working for the State of Michigan, retiring from Disability Determination Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Retzloff; her son, Lenard, Jr.; her parents, Otis and Thelma (Young) Rich; sister, Marilyn Braman; brothers, Otis, Robert and Fred Rich; her friend and biking companion, Spud. She is survived by: her daughters, Jackie Frank, Rae Retzloff, Robin Retzloff; son, Joel (Janine) Retzloff; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She leaves lots of love to her family, longtime friends, Lyola Sharp and Bea Kilvington.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017, at Grovenburg United Methodist Church, 1368 Grovenburg Rd., Holt, with The Rev. Joseph D. Huston officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or Grovenburg United Methodist Church in memory of Maxine Retzloff.
