Luella Grace Browand

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away February 20, 2011.  She was born January 23, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Earl and Edith Brady.

Luella was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in Bethesda, Maryland. She received her Associate’s Degree from Albion College, her Bachelor’s Degree from Hope College, and then got her Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan. She worked as a librarian for Kalamazoo Public Library, and also substituted for the Lansing Public School System.  Luella was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was very active in the choir, bell choir, bell carillon, and Bible study. She loved to travel, and had a lifelong love of music, but above all she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Luanne (Ed) Rabideau, Kristine (Dave) Holubowicz, and Barbara Pasch; son-in-law: Tom Pasch; grandchildren: Nick (Kelly) Rabideau, Randy Rabideau, Shane Blair, Kevin Blair, David Holubowicz, Jennifer Holubowicz, Jim Pasch, Tom Pasch, and Jessica Pasch; and great-grandchildren: Alaina Rabideau, Ethan Rabideau, Owen Rabideau, and Cameron Pasch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Browand, grandson Douglas Rabideau, brothers Dick and Ron Brady.

There will be a memorial service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Central United Methodist Church 215 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, Michigan with Pastor Ron Brooks officiating. There will be visitation Saturday one-hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Alaina Rabideau.
