Vivian Jeanette Powis

Age 89, of Haslett, MI, passed away December 12, 2016. She was born November 29, 1927, in Lansing, MI, to Oscar Wendell and Viletta Inabelle Bateman.

Vivian graduated from Eastern High School and worked in retail. She was a member of Haslett Community Church and exercised with the Meridian Mall 50+ exercise group.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Edward Powis, Jr., 1 daughter, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 son-in-law, and 1 grandson. She is survived by 4 children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
