Diane R. Peters

Diane passed away peacefully in Charlotte, Michigan, and joined her family in heaven October 22, 2016, at the age of 71. Born November 18, 1944, to Alex and Genevieve Bollinger in Detroit, Michigan. Diane spoke often of her closeness with, and gave special meaning to, her relations with her maternal and paternal grandparents in her early life.

Diane was a 1962 graduate of Lansing Sexton High School and was proud to earn her AA degree from Lansing Community College. Diane lived in Arizona from 1983 until returning to East Lansing in 2014. Diane had a passion for her work; she retired in 2014 after over 50-years of service in the worker compensation insurance industry.

Diane has always had a pet close by, she loved her cats. Diane never met a stranger, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She also enjoyed quilting, traveling, but most important to Diane was the time she had with her children.

Preceding Diane in death were her parents. Surviving are her son Dan (Myra) and his children Genevieve and Christopher, son Doug (Kim) and their children Doug Jr. and Kendall. Diane is also survived by her maternal aunt Loretta Kay O’Brien (Pat) and her paternal aunt Marilyn Greenway (Jerry) along with cousins and numerous other family, including sister-in-law Shirley Mouser (Bill).

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care.
