Evan Morley Thompson

In Loving Memory of Evan Morley Thompson

November 15, 2002 – October 10, 2016

Our beloved Son and faithful Brother Evan Morley Thompson came into our lives November 15, 2002 and left us far too early.  It was clear to all who met him that this boy was a joyous light, quick to smile and at times wielding an acerbic wit which he usually saved for Spencer.  Evan indeed lived his life by the Golden Rule, treating others as he wished to be treated, more than once turning the other cheek.

His favorite moments were those which were spent outdoors, and his affinity for water was boundless regardless of the temperature.  Evan was truly a “Michigan Boy” relishing every season, hiking, biking, camping, swimming, water skiing, tennis and above all snow skiing at Shanty Creek and Nubs Nob.  An accomplished lacrosse and soccer player, reliable team mate, fine student, and ambassador of good sportsmanship.

Evan brought love and kindness to all his friends and family. He shared a special bond with his shared custody dog, Bunker. Evan was always surrounded by a family that loved him and will always love him. He will be sorely missed.

Written by his brother Spencer, and father Eric

I will always remember the day I met you Evan. You knocked on my door to ask [Ms Jackie] permission to ride your bike to my driveway and back to your home. You won my heart from that very moment. I have had the greatest pleasure of watching both You and Spencer grow up to be the finest and most respectful young men. Thank you for taking time to stop and say hi, to play with my Gunnar and above all sharing your smile and wave when passing by. In honor of you Evan, I now stop to reflect on our special moments we’ve shared every time I hear the train whistles blow. I hope you’re receiving the kiss I send you. Rest now little man, your journey is complete and my life is far better for knowing you.

Words cannot express my condolences to the Thompson Family and community. I pray you find comfort in all the memories you have of Evan. What a beautiful person he must of been…..the go fund me page is pouring in with support for the game he loved. May he watch over you all and continue to bring a smile to your face.
