Lansing, Michigan.

Age 90, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2016 after a brave fight against breast cancer. She was born June 8, 1926 in Detroit MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Helen Lewenhof, her brother William, and her husband Harold to whom she was happily married to for 63 years. She is survived by her daughter Sara Lee Gabin of Portland OR, sons Ira (Mary) of DeWitt, and Michael (Melissa) of Chicago, and three grandchildren whom she adored, Max Gabin of San Diego, and Katie Allen Gabin and Elizabeth Allen Gabin of Chicago.

Beatrice was an active member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek in East Lansing for almost 50 years to. Her warmth and kindness will be missed by her many friends.

Her family would like to extend its deepest thanks to the McLaren medical oncology staff and McLaren hospice nursing staff for their expert care and concern.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Road, East Lansing, Michigan, with Rabbi Amy Bigman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Congregation Shaarey Zedek Endowment Fund or the Greater Lansing Jewish Welfare Federation, 360 Charles Street, East Lansing, Michigan 48823.
