Redell B. “R.B.” Willoughby

Mason, Michigan

R.B. Willoughby was born June 25, 1925, in Leflore County, Mississippi, to James and Emma Willoughby. He passed quietly away on June 18, 2016, at home. He grew up and graduated at the VFW Home in Eaton Rapids after the death of his father at an early age.

He joined the Marines at the age of 18 and fought in WWII. He was married to Anna Mae Willoughby on July 13, 1946, until she passed on Feb. 26, 2013. They were married for 68 years. He retired from Fisher Body and moved to Texas but came back to Michigan in 1996 and resided in Mason until his death.

He is survived by 3 children, Terri (Terry) Figley, David Willoughby and Cindy (Jerry) Sheerin; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by two children James and Lynn Willoughby and two sisters Jaycil and Sue.

We would like to acknowledge how appreciative we are to his granddaughter Kelly Arford who was there with him and taking care of him till the end.
