Peter Iven Jackson

Peter Iven Jackson, 81, of Lansing, MI, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 11, 1935. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Ann, his children Crystal Collins, Lansing; Karen (Michael) Cote, Plainwell; Alan Jackson, Hilton Head, SC; Deanna (Ben) Darling, Holt; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother Bob and family of Oregon, and many friends.

Peter graduated from Eastern High School in January, 1953. He was a veteran of the Army Reserves; retired from the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors after 35 years of service, was a long-time volunteer for what is now McLaren Hospital, volunteered in the community at several events including the LPGA Oldsmobile Classic, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Holt and was a Christmas Day volunteer for Volunteers of America for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, sports, going to the movies and was an active member of his church.

A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope, Lansing, MI 48910 at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 13, 2016, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, MSU Breslin Cancer Center, McLaren Greater Lansing Hospice or the charity of your choice.

I was so shocked and surprised to read about Pete! I think of all the many good times and fun that we had when we were young! I’m glad that I got to see and visit with both of you recently. My thoughts and love are with you and your family!
