Ramona Jean, age 85, of Holt, MI, arrived in Heaven on April 25, 2016, to be reunited with her husband Edward and mother Ollie Dillard. Jean was born June 16, 1930, in Danville, VA.

She graduated from Longwood College and received a master’s degree in education at Michigan State University. Jean was a teacher for Holt Public Schools from 1952 to 1986.

Jean loved being with the “Delhi Damsels Red Hats.” She had so much fun and enjoyed dressing up for all of the Red Hat events.

Mom especially looked forward to the “Lunch Bunch” with Jean Bauer, Linda Ried, Peg Brown, and other retired Holt teachers.

She is survived by her daughter Vickie (Ken) McCaffrey-Duff of Mason, son Dee of Holt, and sister-in-law June (Art) Hissong of DeWitt.

Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. A brief graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care or Sparrow Hospice Services.

Thanks to all the nurses, techs, doctors, and all of her friends who have shown so much kindness to our mom.
