Age 94, of Grand Ledge, MI, passed away on April 9, 2016.  Vivian was born September 24, 1921, in Modoc, Indiana, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  In her earlier years she worked for Michigan Bell Telephone and Hager Lumber in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She married Egbert “Bud” Boukma at the end of World War II and they were married for over fifty years until Bud’s death in 1997.  After Bud retired from Michigan Bell Telephone, they enjoyed their family and friends in Michigan and their winters in Largo, Florida.

Surviving are her son, Dale (Magdalena) Boukma of Grand Ledge, grandchildren Christopher (Kara) Boukma of Bath, Michigan, and Lisa (Art) Hill of Des Moines, Iowa, and great-grandchildren Lucas Hill, Dakota Hill, Amelia Boukma and Estella Boukma. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Rita Eckert, Judy Syme, and Jim (Kathy) Edwards.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Bud, brother Don Edwards, sister Phyllis Jarrett, sister June Baker, and parents Clare and Pauletta Edwards of Southfield, Michigan.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, Michigan 48933. We welcome family and friends who wish to share their memories and pay tribute to Vivian’s life.

    Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I remember when working with you how many times you had to rush to her side. You were always helping her. She certainly lived a long life. Hope all is well with you and Magdalena. I finally retired last fall. My best to you both! You have to be pretty busy with those grandchildren!
