Age 86 passed away March 25, 2016 in Lansing. She was born December 21, 1929 in Lansing to the late Lewis and Gertrude (Burrett) Strickland.
Dorene was a waitress for many years at both Sullys Drive In, and Friendly’s Restaurant. She was an avid bingo player, and bowler. She and her husband Bill enjoyed going to Florida during the winter months.
Dorene is survived by William “Bill” Arens, her husband of 61+ years; her children: Thomas (Kathy) Arens, and Tammy (Steve) Duling; a daughter in law Wanda Arens; grandchildren: Christina, Brandy, Jennifer, Michael, Joseph, Brad (Mandy), and Andy (Erin); great grandchildren: Amara, Makynzie, Treton, Jordan, Cody, Jason, Isabel, Ethan, Addison, Jacob, Joey, Isabelle, and Madelyn.
She was preceded in death by a son Victor Arens.
The funeral service for Dorene Arens will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m.,Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to that of the donor’s choice.
