Age 48, of Lansing, MI, passed away March 2, 2016. He was born April 28, 1967, in Kalamazoo, MI, and was lovingly adopted by James V. and Patricia Heyden.

James worked at Walmart for 20 years. He spent a lot of time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and of course grilling. He enjoyed watching MSU basketball games, but he especially loved being a proud father and grandpa.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Walter B. Hill Jr.) Heyden; grandson, Walter B. Hill III, brother, Timothy Heyden; sister, Theresa (Larry) Laba; father, James V. Heyden; 2 nieces; and close friend, Rosa Reyes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and sister Jamie.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
