William R. Rutter

Age 86, of Lansing, MI, went to be with his Lord on November 21, 2015. William was born on August 2, 1929, in Lansing, MI, to Hazen and Laura Rutter.

William was an avid gardener and Sunday school teacher. He retired from Nabisco after many years of service. He loved beautiful flowers, sweet treats and the company of those he loved. He enjoyed puzzles, playing games, and making everyone he met smile.

He is survived by his 4 children, Daniel Rutter, Catherine Bedell, Holly Rutter and Margaret (Mike Spitzley) Lange; 11 grandchildren, Juston (Serena), Misty, Christina, William, Douglas, Shiteesha, Thomas, Michael, Sarah, Robert and Chantel; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and their families; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Rutter, in 1986; son, David Rutter; and one brother.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
