Arnie OhstOn September 29, 2015,  a truly honorable man went to his heavenly reward at the age of 93.  Arnie was born December 21, 1921, in Manistee, Michigan.  He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Arnie graduated from MSU with a degree in Business Administration.  He worked at Oldsmobile, retiring with his wife July 1, 1980.  Arnie had only good things to say about people.  His glass was always full and his smile was infectious.  He bled Green and White and loved the Detroit Tigers and a cold beer.  He will be truly missed!

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Hanes); siblings, John C. Ohst, Mildred Ohst, Elinor Bachmann, Ruth Lange and Wilbur Ohst; and nephew, David Bachmann.  He is survived by nieces and nephews, Philip (Debi) Lange, Janet Lange-Stumpf, Alan Paul Ohst, and Brenda Bachmann.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 7910 E. St. Joe Hwy, Lansing, with The Rev. William Wangelin officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  His family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, or Trinity Lutheran Church in Manistee, in memory of Arnold Ohst.
